Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a web-based legal research information system for the Makati Regional Trial Court to help the legal researchers to archive and maintain their legal researchers for easier retrieval and management. The researcher would like to answer the following questions: (a) What is the level of acceptance of the developed legal research information system to the legal researchers in Makati City Philippines? and (b) What is the level of effectiveness of the developed legal research information system to selected IT Professionals in terms of the following criteria of the ISO 9126 model namely: usefulness, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability? Primary evaluation data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 25 respondents composed of 20 Makati RTC Legal Researchers as users and 5 selected IT Professionals as expert users. The researchers used the software quality model ISO 9126 in evaluating the developed system. The model determined six attributes including usefulness, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. The findings showed that the software evaluation by the Makati Legal Researchers and selected IT Professionals were strongly accepted and that improvements were recommended for further development of the system.
