Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region IV-A Director, Dr. Leonida S. Calagui, appointed 5 AUP mentors as members of the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) for 2013-14. Dr. Romeo Barrios, Prof. Susy Jael, Dr. Dina Galang, Dr. Miriam Narbarte and Dr. Reuel Narbarte are the ‘chosen few’ authorized by CHED to review, monitor, and recommend academic programs requested by higher education institutions (HEls) in Calabarzon for CHED approval.
RQAT is CHED’s accreditation arm tasked to visit, evaluate, and conduct consultative sessions with school administrators to ensure HEls’ compliance with the standards of academic excellence implemented by the Commission. Specifically the experts from AUP are assigned on the following fields of expertise: Dr. Barrios for humanities, social sciences, and communication; Prof. Jael and Dr. Galang for nursing; while Dr. Miriam and Dr. Reuel Narbarte for business, management and accounting.
The RQAT appointment of the five AUP faculty members is an added responsibility in their concurrent capacity as administrators and academic heads, namely: Dr. M. Narbarte, Vice-President for Academics; Dr. R Narbarte, Human Resource Director; Prof. S. Jael, College of Nursing Dean; Dr. D. Galang, Nursing Graduate Program Coordinator; and Dr. R. Barrios, AUP Radio Station Manager and Development Communication Coordinator.
The appointees from AUP were officially presented during the RQAT orientation and workshop seminar hosted by Director Calagui’s regional office on August 17, 2012 at CHED Auditorium, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
