Dean Doris Mendoza receives distinguished award from Loma Linda University Health
Dr. Doris A. Mendoza, founding and current dean of the Adventist University of the Philippines-College of Medicine (AUP-COM) was the recipient of the 2020 Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) Global Service Award, given at the vesper service held on March 6, 2020, at the LLUH University church during the LLU homecoming weekend.
The prestigious award is presented to individuals whose commitment to global service exemplifies Loma Linda University Health’s worldwide mission through healthcare, education, and/or research. Present to the awarding was Loma Linda University president Dr. Richard Hart, along with some AUP alumni, family and friends of Dr. Mendoza. Dr. Doris started her ministry with LLUH in January 2007 when she began her mentoring program in the areas of pediatric cardiology and heart transplantation as well as spirituality, wholeness and Christian bioethics. After this, Dr. Mendoza served formerly at West Visayan State University before serving at the AUP-COM as the founding and current dean of AUP-College of Medicine. With this milestone, AUP continues to inspire more aspiring medical doctors to pursue becoming five-star plus-physician missionaries who will bring wholeness to the world through Christ Jesus.
